2nd Deal - [accidental video/action]

[The camera opens to a blurry close-up shot of a face. It pulls back, focuses, and reveals That New Guy with the tattoo and the accent. He's got a cut lip, and looks in a mild state of shock. He wipes his hand across the back of his face, wiping the blood off. Then something in his expression hardens.]

So that's how it's going to be, yeah?

[The camera pulls back just in time for him to tug his shirt off, tossing it out of shot.]

Come on, then.

[It's some time before whatever fight Seth's gotten himself into finishes off. He shirt was tossed in the general direction on the bench Charlie is parked on, so he's forced to meet her eyes when he comes over to retrieve it. His lips is still bleeding, and a bruise is starting to show on his jawline. He picks up his shirt, tugging it gingerly back on. Enjoy the show, Charlie?]

How long 'ave you been there?

[charring]

About five minutes. [And yes, yes she did. Isn't she just the littlest brat, ever? She holds the bag of chips up.] I'd offer you some, but that might sting a little.

[He brings his hand to his mouth again, and looks perplexed when they come away with blood on them.]

Reckon they might, yeah.

[He sits on the bench next to her - although as far away as he can without falling off the edge - and uses the edge of his sleeve to stem the bleeding.]

[charring]

[Charlie digs in her pockets for a moment, pulling out a pack of unopened disposable tissues. She holds them out to the guy.] Here.

[This earns Charlie another perplexed look, but he takes them anyway.]

[He presses a tissue against his lip, and leans further back on the bench.]

Tell me this isn't a regular thing.

[charring]

You're welcome. [She manages a brief smile, one eyebrow raising just a bit.] I'm guessing it's a curse. Did you even know the guy you were beating the piss out of?

To be fair, he did have a go at me first.

[He does have the decency to look a little ashamed of himself at least.]

Self-defense. Reasonable. [It's almost like she knows what she's talking about.]

[Yes, because he was the only one throwing punches, Seth. He takes the tissue away from his mouth.]

How's it look?

It looks fine. [Pause.] Did we speak before? I feel like we did.

When I first showed up, yeah. Last week.

[charring]

Right. Now I remember. [She nods, eating another chip before speaking again.] You didn't have much time to settle in before being cursed, did you?

[Pause for thought.]

These curses. They work like powers, do they? Only temporary?

[charring]

Yeah. Only, not powers belonging to residents. Not one I've heard of, anyway. It's all the Deities, so I hear.

[Seth gives another cursory dab at his lip.]

I wonder where they get them from.

[charring]

Some are born with abilities. Like me. As for others? No clue.

[She looks at Seth again.] Do you want some ice for that?

You were born with a power?

[Of all the powers he's seen, and yes there have been a lot of them, they've all been ones from the storm. He gives her an interested look.]

What, you've got some on you?

[charring]

[She nods slightly.] I'm a pyrokinetic.

[She just raises an eyebrow, pointing at the store across the street.] Not in my pockets, no. But I'm sure the convenience store across the way has some in the fountain soda machines.

Pyrokinetic? I've sold a few of those, yeah. Never from anyone who was born with it, though.

[He glaces over at the store.]

Should be alright, thanks.

[charring]

Sold? [That's only a bit unsettling to hear. She even looks a bit wary.] Is that a thing where you're from? Buying and selling powers?

Not in general, no. But I can.

[charring]

You buy and sell powers? [Nope. Not liking his at all. She'll play nice, though. Just keep her curiosity at the forefront of her reactions and in her expression.] That's kind of wild.
